The Hemmingway House

The Hemmingway House

Ernest Hemingway first visited Key West in the early 1920’s. He found inspiration on the island and penned many of his most famous novels at a tiny writing table in his key west living room.

Step back in time by touring the property, witness family photos that remain on the walls, dip your toes into the cool courtyard pool, smell the blooming flowers in the garden and pet one of the many Hemingway six-toed cats that wander the property.

The house, it’s furnishings, gardens and pool have been lovingly restored and turned into a museum. Dozens of six-toed cats inhabit and laze about the property, all descendants of Ernest’s own pets.

This is truly a must see for literary buffs and avid readers and writers.
