 
The 2018 mini lobster season like all lobster mini seasons is always the last consecutive Wednesday and Thursday in July. Next year the mini season falls on July 25th and 26th.
The regular 8 month lobster season is always August 6 through March 31.
Get ready for the frenzy. The State of Florida created an annual short sportsman season (lobster mini-season). The Mini-season allows recreational users to catch lobsters prior to the commercial season. Over the years Mini Lobster Season has been modified several times to account for changes in lobster stock assessments.
In the Florida Keys (Monroe County) the limit per person per day is 6 lobsters.
Things you need to know before you go.
For gear you will need the following:
A Fishing License with a Lobster Stamp
Mask, fins and a snorkel or dive gear
A Tickle stick
A lobster net
A Lobster carapace measuring gauge
Lobster Gloves
A Catch Bag
