Easter Dinner Decor – “Keys-Style”

If you live in the keys, it’s easy to entice friends and family to visit for Easter weekend. This year, plan an epic Easter weekend they’ll remember for years.

If you’ve ever hosted guests over Easter weekend in the keys, you already know the logistics can be a bit challenging – your guests arrive Thursday or Friday, but Easter falls on Sunday (the day they depart).

That’s why we suggest our “Easter Weekend With A Twist”. Celebrate Easter on Saturday Night. Shoo your guests away for a day of play, while you prepare a memorable twilight Easter’s Eve dinner party. Serve dinner under the stars on the porch, patio or deck. Make it elegant and “keysey”.

String lights in the trees for ambiance. Set a long outdoor table with an enchanting and romantic spring theme, with a nod of nautical influences – baskets of eggs in sea-foam green and varying shades of blue, rustic lanterns filled with candles, spray-painted silver conch shells and flowers.

Serve a traditional Easter feast – Ham, Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Carrots – but add some island influence. Serve cold shrimp with spicy cocktail sauce as an appetizer, present the ham with a side of pineapple-mango salsa and finish with dessert selections that include key lime pies and a decadent coconut cake.

After dinner, give the kids some flashlights and glow sticks and let them go wild searching for hidden Easter eggs. After the egg hunt entertain the kiddos with an indoor slumber party and movie. Rent the Disney’s The Little Mermaid or Nemo.

While the kids watch a movie, invite the adults to gather around a dockside fire-pit to sip on snifters of Cognac, high-ball glasses of syrupy Meyers Rum and cigars.

After your epic Easter Celebration night – host an easy-breezy continental Sunday Send-Off Breakfast of fresh fruit, Bagels & Cream Cheese and Granola before they hit the road.

Happy Keys Easter!
