SUNSCREEN – It’s not a popular topic in the keys…it’s greasy, smells bad, stains clothes and causes
breakouts. But alas, scientists have been hard at work, formulating a new generation of more user-friendly products. These are some of our favorites:
Coppertone Clearly Sheer Whipped Sunscreen
Sunscreen has evolved. If you’re a fan of the new foaming soaps and body washes, you’ll love foam sunscreen. It’s easier to apply and boasts an 50 SPF rating. Find it at local drugstores for $10.99.
Pacifica Coconut Probiotic Mineral Bronzing Spray.
It’s a smooth silky formulation with an 30 SPF rating. It’s minerals and antioxidants actually improve skin’s texture and hydration, and deepen and enrich your tan. It’s a little expensive at $15.99, but well worth the investment.
Hawaiian Tropic Weightless Face
A weightless, disappearing facial sunscreen that won’t clog pores and cause breakouts. This cosmetic-grade product boasts a 30 SPF rating and is really affordable, just $8.99 at drugstores.
Banana Boat Dry Balance
This sunscreen is for beach dwellers. It’s a dry spray that actually repels sand. It has an SPF rating of 50.
Australian Gold Bronzer
This is the Gold Standard for sun bathers, it doesn’t provide a lot of sun protection, the SPF rating is only 15 and it’s difficult to come by. If you can’t find it locally, order it online. It contains carrot oils and other ingredients that condition, hydrate and soften your skin while enhancing it’s natural ability to tan.
